The course includes:

We are going to explore a variety of dance movements and yoga poses, breathing techniques, and relaxation practices to unlock your inner peace and strength.

This course contains three sections, and each section offers a sequence, a breathing technique and a relaxation practice for the first year after birth at gradually increasing difficulty levels.

The first section contains practices for the postpartum period such as stretches, pelvic floor exercises, a breathing technique and a guided relaxation along with a traditional African healing dance sequence.

In the second and the third section I invite you to join me in an easy or a medium level Afroyoga sequence.

At the end of these sections I also guide you through a breathing technique and a relaxation.

Why choose this course?

Yoga after birth has a positive effect on the whole body. It restores strength and elasticity, reduces pain and discomfort, improves posture, helps manage fluid retention, supports the diastasis recti or abdominal muscle separation recovery. It also reduces anxiety and depression, promotes relaxation and stress reduction, boosts mood and energy, provides a space for self-care and strengthens the bond with your baby.

The traditional African dance movements also reduce stress and anxiety while improving the physical fitness of the body by strengthening and toning the muscles. Moreover, the intricate footwork and movements enhance coordination and balance the sense of which significantly changes during pregnancy and needs to be restored after birth.

The African dance movements together with the yoga asanas are designed to boost your energy level and help you deepen your connection to your mind, your body and your emotions.
